Are you graduating from GoPro and ready to level up? Or downsizing from a hefty DSLR rig? If you’re looking for a streamlined system that can shoot professional-quality images and video while being low-maintenance and easy to travel with, then the 200FP system for the Sony a6700 is designed for you.
The Sony a6700 has already been one of the most popular models underwater in our 200DLM/E Underwater Housings with an interchangeable port system for full support of most popular wide angle and macro lenses. Two new housings for the a6700 camera specifically support the 16-50mm PZ kit lens for use on its own or in combination with optional wet lenses. The two new housings differ in their triggering method for external underwater strobes.
Point-and-Shoot Comparison
The 200FP/T and 200FP/F housings are specifically designed to accommodate the Sony a6700 camera with the ultra-compact Sony E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS lens attached. The lens' Power Zoom (PZ) capabilities allow you to set up the camera with drop-in loading and zoom through the buttons on the back of the housing- just like a point-and-shoot camera.

The Sony a6700 (left) is only slightly larger but significantly more powerful than its sibling the RX100 VII (right).
Compared to even the most powerful point-and-shoot cameras like the Sony Cyber-shot RX100 VII, this system has a larger sensor, higher resolution, better video quality, and significantly longer battery life.

External Wet Lenses
The built-in glass flat port has 67mm threads on the front for the attachment of external wide angle and macro wet lenses.
67mm threads are the standard in underwater imaging and are well suited to the attachment of lightweight diopters.
When adding a heavier wide angle wet lens, it is necessary to add a compatible bayonet adapter (not included) for the easy removal and replacement of the lens underwater. Most popular manufacturers of wide angle wet lenses offer a corresponding M67 to bayonet adapter system. Using bayonet adapters on both your macro and wide angle lenses will facilitate easy switching back and forth underwater. Add an adapter mount to your strobe arm to dock your wet lens safely when not in use.

The 200FP/T Underwater Housing with an optional bayonet adapter and INON S95 Wide Angle Lens (sold separately).
Slight vignetting (dark shadows at the corners of the image) may be present at the widest angle settings when using an external wide angle wet lens. Vignetting varies by lens manufacturer and may be eliminated by zooming in slightly, cropping the image, or using content aware fill in post production.
200FP/T Option: Perfect TTL Flash Exposure
We've spent 20+ years engineering the most reliable and accurate underwater TTL strobe exposure available. Compared to fiber optic systems, the direct electrical TTL connection of the 200FP/T housing is more reliable and consistently proves to be more dependable over years of use. The built-in TTL circuit is powered by your Ikelite DS Strobe, improving dependability and eliminating an extra battery to maintain. The built-in TTL electronics in the 200FP/T housing are compatible with current model Ikelite DS-series strobes. Non-Ikelite strobes are not capable of powering the internal TTL circuitry.
200FP/F Option: Fiber Optic Flash
The Sony a6700 does not have a built-in flash for the triggering of external fiber optic strobes. If you're shooting a legacy fiber optic strobe, choose the 200FP/F housing with built-in manual fiber optic transmitter. The transmitter attaches to the camera's hotshoe and translates its flash signals to LED pulses that can be read by compatible fiber optic strobe options from most underwater strobe manufacturers including INON, Sea&Sea, Retra, Weefine, Kraken, and AOI (sold under Backscatter brand). Fiber optic strobes must be used in manual power settings.

The two 200FP models differ in their triggering method for external strobes. The 200FP/T (left) features built-in TTL electronics while the 200FP/F (right) has a built-in fiber optic transmitter.
Durability
Our custom ABS-PC blend is lighter than aluminum yet strong enough for almost anything you want to throw at it. The included Vacuum System allows you to check for leaks prior to entering the water.
Future-Proofing
The lens port on this housing is designed exclusively for use with the 16-50mm PZ lens. If you decide to expand your lens selection, it is possible to return the housing to Ikelite for the addition of a Lens Release control and replacement of the fixed port with our DLM port mount.
See the DLM/E Lens Port Chart for Sony
It is not recommended to switch back and forth between the DLM port mount and the fixed port on a regular basis.
