Christoph Mayerhofer's first dive experience was at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia in 2013. Five years later he started his Open Water certification and has since become a PADI Divemaster and is currently working on his TEC-diving certification.
While he's always had a passion for photography, his love of underwater photography was ignited when he wanted to "bring the joy and happiness of this amazing underwater world to my family and friends who did not dive."
Christoph initially invested in an Olympus TG-5 and as his passion has grown so have his cameras. Now he shoots with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III inside an Ikelite 200DLM underwater housing with dual Ikelite DS230 Strobes.
"Throughout the year you will find me in our Echinger Weiher... If I am not there I am visiting some really nice lakes in Germany or I am traveling to new diving destinations. Always trying to catch the perfect moment."

Only he is allowed to park here: When stepping into the cold water of this former opencast mine near Hamburg I only wanted to get one nice shoot of this truck at 21m on top of an old vibrating sieve tower. Kreidesee Hemmoor, Germany. © Christoph Mayerhofer
