The video featured here was shot with the Canon R7 camera in 4K 60 FPS and it turned out great. The area featured is quite remote including a long drive, followed by a hike in the woods to this stretch of river in central New Brunswick, Canada. It is the South Branch of the Renous River and is a tributary of the Miramichi River watershed – well known for it’s annual migration of Atlantic Salmon during the summer months. The Miramichi is a famous destination for many fly fishers across the world.
Upon arriving at the pool, we could see a few salmon resting, including a large one of about 15 to 20 lb. My goal was to snorkel and work my way upstream behind the fish to try and get some footage. The end result was more than what I had hoped for.
