About Blue Project

Today we know that data alone is not enough to achieve the change that our ocean so desperately needs, and that is why photography becomes such a powerful tool, a picture says more than a thousand words. We need to tell the stories of our sharks to protect them.

Mizael Palomeque is a Mexican underwater photographer and shark advocate; he also holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Law and has won a number of different photography awards and continues to use his platform to help change sharks' narrative.

Cecilia Gutiérrez is a professional shark diver and underwater photographer; she also holds a Masters Degree in Natural Resource Management and is a co-founder of multiple organizations aimed at protecting sharks and promoting science.

United by their passion for sharks, the team dedicates its efforts to raising awareness about the importance of their conservation, leading the community science project in Playa del Carmen.
