Underwater Photography Guide editors Nirupam Nigam and Jenna Szerlag took the first housing for the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III in the water to see what this powerful compact mirrorless camera could do.
The OM-D E-M5 Mark III has great specs and Olympus micro four-thirds cameras have the widest selection of great direct-mount lenses available. So you don't have to rely on an adapter to attach a lens designed for a DSLR camera.
The E-M5 Mark III is in many ways a smaller and cheaper OM-D E-M1 Mark II, which has been a favorite for underwater shooting. The camera has 5-axis image stabilization, good low light performance, 4K UHD video, and average battery life.
These photos were taken with the Olympus 60mm Macro lens and the Panasonic Lumix G 8mm f/3.5 Fisheye lens. TTL strobe flash exposure via dual DS160 strobes and DL3 DS Link TTL Converter.
