Ikelite Video Producer Logan Wood just returned from two weeks diving and presenting at MantaFest at Manta Ray Bay Resort in Yap, Micronesia. This is a unique opportunity to spend time honing your craft among fellow divers and videographers. In addition to daily dives and workshops, every attendee has a good chance to walk away with amazing prizes including dive trips, computers, and more.
“MantaFest is a really cool opportunity for divers and underwater photographers to all get together”
This year marked MantaFest's 17th year underwater. MantaFest is an annual underwater photography and scuba diving event held on the island of Yap, Micronesia. This island is situated by a protected reef and is home to a rich ecosystem of marine life which makes it a great place to enhance your underwater photography skills, and of course see manta rays!
Guests will have access to beautiful hotel accommodations, daily diving, underwater photography workshops and seminars with nightly presentations by photo pros like David Fleetham, one-on-one underwater photography chats at happy hour, and tons of topside entertainment as well.
With the guidance of photo pros, divers can improve their underwater photography skills, build their portfolio, and can enter a photo competition with incredible prizes. This year's winner was awarded a trip to Truk Lagoon.
“My favorite part about MantaFest is getting together with friends, meeting new dive people, enjoying the crew and the staff.”
Join the Fun!
MantaFest is held every year on the last week of August and first week of September. Divers interested in joining next year's MantaFest can find more information on the Manta Ray Bay Resort website.
